Outdoor Season Finally Begins

After 3 meets being cancelled/postponed during the first week, the boys track and field team finally competed in an outdoor meet.  The boys ran at Lakes on Wednesday, April 11th against Lakes and Round Lake.  The boys opened up the season in the NLCC by beating both teams and going 2-0 in the conference.  The boys defeated Lakes 99-46 and Round Lake 127-19.  Some of the highlights include the frosh-soph 4x100 relay that broke the school record.  The team of Dino Kaliakmanis, Khalil Anderson, Gavin Calabrese, and Athan Kaliakmanis ran 46.3 and broke the freshman school record that was set in 1992.  Other relay winners included the 4x800 relay of Joe Sculuca, Jack Holston, Brad Gaydovchik, and Alex Besson, the 4x100 relay of Drew Porter, Zach Grindley, Javen London, and Robert Christiansen, and the 4x200 relay of Drew Porter, Nico Fier, Zach Grindley, and Ben Nauman.  Individual winners were Javen London (100 meters, 300 HH), Andrew Johnson (800 meters), Charlie Smith (400 meters), Robert Christiansen (200 meters), James Brown and Drew Smith tied for 1st in the high jump, Chase Becker (shot put and discus), and Nico Fier (pole vault).
