Sunday, February 26 2017 - Antioch Boys Indoor Invite


The 2017 season officially started on Friday as the boys opened up by hosting the Antioch Indoor Invite.  The Sequoits put up many soild performances.  The highlight of the night was Landon Keefover's victory in the 55 meter high hurdles.  His time of 7.80 was more the .25 faster than any other runner.  This was a follow up to his 8.28 60 meter hurdle race that he ran at the University of Kentucky the week before.  Other notable performances were Nico Garia's 12'0" clearance in the pole vault.  Garcia placed 5th overall and broke the Sophomore school record in the process.  Other place winners include Sebastian Scofield in the 800 meter run placing 5th overall and running an indoor best of 2:09.58.  Senior Marc Gillespie grabbed 5th place in the 55 meter high hurdles running a PR of 9.03.  The 4x200 meter raly team put together a very impressive race as Keefover, Drew Porter, Javen London and Quinn Landl placed 4th running 1:37.30.  Brandon Etayem jumped a personal best in the triple jump, soaring 39'3".  

Another positive take away was the number of first time track and field guys competing in their first meet as a Sequoit.  Trevon Arnold, Jared DeBoer, Ezequiel Espinoza, Josh Linck, Javen London, and Paul Valdivia-Valencia all competed hard and we're excited to see what more than can do for the team!
